| ESMOL holds two meetings each year, these include the summer and winter
meetings. During these meetings the IEEE standards that we are
responsible for are reviewed to insure that the technology is current.
For those that are approaching their renewal date a working group of
interested experts is
formed. Then a review process begins that
finally culminates in a revised document that is submitted to IEEE for
voting. During these two meetings socials are held. There is a
great deal of sharing between members during the typical three - four day
meeting. During some meetings papers on particular topics of
interest are
presented.
Other activities include the ESMO activity and trade show, held
approximately each
2 1/2 years. The last was in 2006 in Albuquerque, NM. It is
of great interest to both management and workers in the electric utility
industry. It is a very successful and well attended show.
ESMO-2011 was held May 15 - 19, 2011 in Providence, RI.
Hosted by National Grid. Details shown on Meetings page.
